    FOUNDER/EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

    Born and raised in Wisconsin, Chez found grounding and solace on their snowboard during the winter. They spent much of their youth at Granite Peak Ski Area, and are currently a certified snowboard instructor in southern WI. They are thrilled to spread the stoke of shredding the gnar and their love of the outdoors to others.

    Chez has a lengthy background in account management for the technology, advertising, and event industries. They spent 12 years with NPO Madison Roller Derby as a national competitor and coach, contributing to the organization’s sponsorship and training programs. They have a BA in Sociology with a focus on systemic inequality, and are passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Emily Mills

    SECRETARY

    Emily Mills is lifelong outdoor enthusiast, novice snowboarder, musician, and passionate LBGTQ+ advocate/activist. They served as Editor of Our Lives, Madison’s LGBTQ+ magazine, for 7 years, and are currently a marketing and communications professional with an environmental non-profit. Emily has been a member of Madison Roller Derby since 2013, including a three-year stint as General Manager, where they helped create and implement the league’s gender-inclusive membership policy affirming trans and non-binary skaters and volunteers.

    Emily is stoked to be part of making snowsports & boardsports, (and all sports) more accessible and equitable for everyone.

  • Wendy Wilbur

    DIRECTOR

    Wendy is an active leader in the Madison community and an avid supporter of social justice causes. They currently serve as Executive Director of NPO Madison Roller Derby, and have contributed to various leadership positions within the league over the past 15 years. As a retired national competitor and engaged leader, Wendy has a keen sense of the fundamentals required for a progressive, inclusive, and empowering athletic environment.

    Wendy works for a national medical technology company, is a musician, craftsperson, officiant, and cat lover.

  • Jocelyn Acuña

    she/her

    TREASURER

    Jocelyn brings a wealth of financial and non-profit experience to the Boardslide Crew, as well as a passion for grassroots organizations. She has over 18 years of experience as a tax and accounting professional, is a small business owner, and carries a master’s in tax, business, and accounting. Jocelyn has served as the financial manager of Madison Roller Derby since its 2005 inception, and currently serves non-profit organizations Land of Canaan, Common Wealth Development, and the Elk's Lodge in varied capacities.

    As a woman of color and mother of two little ones, Jocelyn is excited to contribute to projects improving the lives and futures of historically marginalized communities.

  • Caroline Knueppel

    WINTER CAMP CHAPERONE/MENTOR

    Caroline teaches high school art in Oak Creek, WI and served as the school’s Gender & Sexuality Alliance Advisor for 8 years. They have been snowboarding for over 25 years and volunteered with the Burton Chill program teaching youth to Snowboard in Portland, OR for 3 years. Caroline is excited to help youth have a great experience at Boardslide’s Winter Camp for All!
